Marcos Santana é um talentoso percussionista brasileiro que fez parte da icônica banda Timbalada e teve como mestre Carlinhos Brown. Nascido e criado no subúrbio de Salvador, Marcos trouxe consigo a rica tradição musical da Bahia. Há cerca de 30 anos, ele se estabeleceu em Londres, onde se tornou uma figura central no Carnaval de Notting Hill, participando ativamente do grupo TRIBO.
O projeto é uma iniciativa sem fins lucrativos que promove ritmos e danças. Sua filosofia é educar crianças e adultos, estimulando a criatividade e expressão artística através da música. Idealizado por Marcos durante sua estadia no Brasil, o projeto recebe estudantes de diferentes partes do mundo, proporcionando um espaço para aprendizado e intercâmbio cultural.
Os participantes têm a oportunidade de se apresentar no vibrante Notting Hill Carnival e em eventos em Manchester, trazendo a energia e a riqueza da música brasileira para um público global. Sua palestra tem como objetivo compartilhar seu conhecimento e paixão por ritmos percussivos, promovendo a inclusão cultural e destacando a importância da música como uma ferramenta para a transformação social e conexão entre diferentes culturas.
Marcos Santana is a talented Brazilian percussionist who was part of the iconic band Timbalada and had Carlinhos Brown as his master. Born and raised in the suburb of Salvador, Marcos brought with him the rich musical tradition of Bahia. About 30 years ago, he settled in London where he became a central figure at the Notting Hill Carnival, actively participating in the TRIBO group.
